ADDING TWO MORE 40-GOAL SNIPERS IN SMASHVILLE

Last season, Filip Forsberg led Nashville with 48 goals.


No other Predator registered more than 26 tallies, though. That might have played a major part in Nashville's first-round exodus in the Stanley Cup playoffs, and it also may have prompted GM Barry Trotz to react in the off-season. And react he did: Trotz signed both Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault as unrestricted free agents. The former potted 40 goals in '23-24, while the 2023 Conn Smythe Trophy recipient recorded a new career high with 42 goals last season. While few expect the Preds to produce three 40-goal scorers on the same team this time around, having three legitimate snipers should help Nashville go a little farther during the '25 postseason. Opponents will have trouble defending against them.
