LAST CALL FOR TORONTO'S CORE TO CHASE THE CUP
The winds of change are looming for Leafs Nation.
While most Toronto hockey fans want the team to make sweeping changes in player personnel, management instead decided to change coaches in the off-season with the hope of changing the team's culture once and for all. Former Blues Cup champion Craig Berube is now the man behind the bench in charge of establishing a winning program for a franchise that has forgotten how to do so. To be fair, Toronto remains a regular-season juggernaut. However, nobody in Toronto will care about the team's 82 games on the regular schedule (unless they are in danger of missing the playoffs). That is unlikely.
With two of the franchise's top four contracts (Mitch Marner and John Tavares) set to expire after '24-25, it is now or never for this group of Maple Leafs.
