Connor Hellebuyck, Jets: Do not be surprised if the 31-year-old Hellebuyck is the first goaltender off the board in many leagues. Pick him with confidence.
Jake Oettinger, Stars: He has been among the NHL's top 'tenders for the past three seasons. Expect Oettinger to be chosen early in most re-draft leagues.
Andrei Vasilevskiy, Lightning: Is the two-time Stanley Cup winner still an elite goaltender? Regardless, he will be healthy from the start of 2024-25. Grab him.
Joel Hofer, Blues: Expect the 24-year-old Hofer to play 30-40 games this season. Therefore, he might be a good late-round pick and fantasy handcuff.
Spencer Knight, Blackhawks: If Knight's issues are behind him, there is no reason he cannot get back to being at least a solid backup 'tender. Risky business.
Cayden Primeau, Hurricanes: He should be no worse than a backup goaltender this campaign and might challenge for starter's ice time. Primeau is a dark horse.
Dustin Wolf, Flames: He has a chance to earn regular playing time on a retooling team in '24-25. Wolf is a definite keeper-league draft pick, at least.
Joseph Woll, Maple Leafs: If the 26-year-old is healthy, he is in line for a lot of games in 2024-25. His talent is unquestioned; availability is the issue.
Frederik Andersen, Hurricanes: If convinced that the Danish goalkeeper can stay healthy this season, do not waste too much time taking him. He is risky business.
Thatcher Demko, Canucks: He is a top-tier NHL 'tender. Assuming Demko's knee issue is fully healed, he figures to be snatched up pretty quickly this year.
Adin Hill, Golden Knights: Health, not ability, is the key for Hill this campaign. Fantasy leaguers need to decide whether or not he will stay in one piece.
Juuse Saros, Predators: The 5'11'' Finn is small by today's standards, but his durability and talent are a great combination. He should be drafted early.
Igor Shesterkin, Rangers: The 28-year-old has won at least 36 games in each of the past three seasons. Shesterkin may be the first goaltender off the board.
Ilya Sorokin, Islanders: The Islanders are counting on a comeback season from the 29-year-old Russian. He is still a top NHL goaltender. Pick accordingly.
Jeremy Swayman, Bruins: He figures to be the No. 1 goaltender on a good Boston team this season. He will be among the first few netminders off the board.
Jordan Binnington, Blues: He must control his temper better but there is little doubt he is worth being selected–likely in the middle rounds of many drafts.
Filip Gustavsson, Wild: Which Gustavsson is the real one: the elite goaltender of 2022-23 or the one who struggled so often last campaign? Take your pick.
Connor Ingram, Oilers: Ingram's emergence sets him up as the likely starter for this group of relocated players. A possible middle-round fantasy option?
Darcy Kuemper, Kings: He should get a chance to start with the Kings in 2024-25, though David Rittich may challenge him. Kuemper could be a good gamble.
Charlie Lindgren, Capitals: Like Vanilla Ice of ''Ice Ice Baby'' fame, Lindgren has to prove he is not a one-hit wonder. He must show better results than Ice.
Joey Daccord, Kraken: The 28-year-old has to prove that he is not a one-year wonder. Daccord could be for real, but he remains a very risky proposition.
Pyotr Kochetkov, Hurricanes: The young Russian could get at least half the starts this season, so there is a lot of value with him. Draft Kochetkov this year.
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, Sabres: His best years are still ahead of him. Better play by his Sabres teammates in 2024-25 could push him into fantasy elite territory.
The 27-year-old is one of the NHL's streakiest 'tenders, but he has won more than he has lost. He is a roll of the dice this year.
Anthony Stolarz, Maple Leafs: The 30-year-old is coming off a career season. Stolarz has to show he can repeat those numbers. Also, how many games will he play?
